Your emotions crush me

Its been so long
Since I smelled
The sweet scent of freedom,
Since I danced
In the basking warmth of joy,
Since I have seen
That spark of hope in my own reflection,
Since I felt
The love you used to show me.

Since I have felt
Just like me.

TogetherWhen I'm with you it looks like
things are getting better.
But when I look outside
black clouds are raining fire.

When I look in your eyes
this world just slips away.
And all the nights' wars and famines
can't touch me in my Utopian day.

Hold me in your warm embrace,
I've found a place to hide.
Let's just be our own world,
and never look outside.

Let us be together
when it seems that we will die.
Let's hold each others' hands
while the clouds are raining fire.

When one door closes...I’ve heard the saying
When one door closes, another opens,
I felt the disconnect and the lock clicked shut
It closed for just a moment
Then opened so hard
That it spun me

I went down in a haze of mixed emotions,
Not over my loss but feeling for you,
My wants mangling each other,
Eating each other alive,
Until there was nothing left
But me

When the tears stopped
and you were there, waiting
I ran toward you
Wanting change, wanting freedom
Embracing an uncertain future
For love

Your eyes were like the ocean
A swirling punch bowl of blue and white,
So inviting in their dance
So severe was the pull of your undertow
That I dove right in

i miss you...I sit here in this rain,

Thinking of you.
But no matter how long I wait on this bench,
                                                                                      For you,
You will never meet me here.
I’ve got on my best dress, my cane,
Even that old bowler hat you always liked,
And I wait at the bench where we first met.
But you will never meet me here again.
I lean on my cane in front of me,
Thinking of you,

Nobody Told MeNobody told me,
How to act.
I wish I knew how much was too much,
or when too little was not enough.
If somebody told me,
that the small things meant the most,
and the big things were forgettable;
Where would I be today?

Nobody told me,
Who to love.
What came of the people I knew
and who were the people I would have known?
If somebody told me,
that I HAD the perfect person,
or that I am with the wrong one;
Would I be able to live with myself?

Nobody told me,
How to feel.
Is what I am feeling right or wrong,
and which should I act upon?
If somebody told me,
that I was being overly obsessive,
or that I should have let go:

MessEverywhere I go
Every single place
The troubles seem to grow
Every smiling face
Eventually frowns with woe

Why can't I do
Anything right
I just screw
Up everything despite
The happiness I try to spew

Is it me
Am I the source of this ache
Does the pain flow free
Is this what I make
People be?

Should I go away and hide
Never to see others
Or the outside
But would I stop another's
Pain and be the only one that ever cried

What is a life with no grey
When everyone is sad
I'd give it all away
It wouldn't be that bad
I would finally be able to say

I saved a life

"Doesn't it hurt?"
I can't feel anything.
"A little."

Punch your own stomach.
Harder.

The pain makes me feel alive.

Cry.
Scream.
Stop.
Keep staring.
"What's wrong with you?"
I'm dead inside.

Stare at your arms.
Your stomach.
Your waist.
Your thighs.
"What are you doing?"
I'm ugly.
"Never mind."

I just have low self esteem.

Cuts.
Scars.
Tears.
Emotions.

These scars are my mark
Wouldn't want to go back
Even though my past is dark
It made me who I am

and saw you thinking clearly and seeing yourself objectively,
like a ghost looking back on life,
realizing that your behavior had not always been for the best.

It was just a fantasy, I know,
my mind conjuring a vision of the way I wanted you to be,
but not how you were.

to do things like other people,
in order to fit in better and do well in life.

I often wished you were otherwise, too.

So if love is acceptance,
should I feel guilty about the lack of it?

The world falls apart

But with you is no good
With you is destruction

Strange how in my poems I put my feeling, but in these descriptions I never know what to say!

There's no need for a description anyway, the poem is meant to describe itself and how you feel so descriptions are pointless anyway

. If the piece over-specifies its purpose it also prevents others from applying it to their own lives, so no biggy
